Oven cleaner is one of those gear head tricks that my old man passed down to me, (also using vinegar to clean rusty/nasty fasteners), works great.

The new stuff is pretty good if you haven't tried it: Fume free and even has a decent smell like lemon. There is no reason you couldn't use it INSIDE if you wanted to. The older style oven cleaners may be a little much to deal with, but then again, most ovens are probably indoors anyway. Doesn't leave you much choice.

Read the instructions of the old stuff....lol , they basicly want you to wear a hazmat suit and a respirator. and clear out the house and ventilate.....lol
