Default ABS & ASR Light On...Help Me Cut It Off...

ok guys my asr and abs light has been on since i bought my car and i would like to cut it off as long as it doesnt break the bank.i managed to get someone to put a tech 2 on it and got DTC C1256 which is left front ABS Motor Circuit Open. i tried to search on here and google it,but i cant find any info on it pertaing to my car which is a 1996 z28 m6.

can any of the techies point me in the right direction....does that codehave to do with the wheel sensor by any chance?

take out the cluster and pull out the bulb

Give it a shot. Take a look at the sensor, unplug & replug & see if it clears.

Look in your fuse box under hood. There is a abs/asr relay that could be bad. Does your car have a good battery?

yea "smarty pants" pulling the bulb is an option but having ABS & some traction control would be nice...as of now im coming up with the ABS motor pack may be malfunctioning.we have a few pull apart yards here in town but i need a diagram on how to remove it and some resistance readings on the motor pack so i can find a good one....this is one of those threads where i need shbox to chime in...where you at lol

I have the same thing going on. Try checking the wiring . I have a broken wire on the rear left sensor and that made mine come on. Just need to cut and splice new piece in and all is good. Had a gm tech of twenty years help me out . He said it is a common problem.
