Are you running a MAF?

What type of tune do you have on it?

Nah, I thought 93's didn't have MAF's.
Not sure what you even mean by what tune?

I have a 93 LT1 in a 3rd gen. When it first fired up, every time it got close to operating temp, the idle would go up and down and then eventually die.

The problem was the coolant temp sensor(in water pump).

Something to do with the ECM going into Open/Close loop mode.

Might be worth a shot since they're like 10 bucks at any parts store.

93 is a speed density car and like the other Guy say hook up the other o2 sensor and see what happens I know this cars act funny when the o2 sensors start acting up

I did send my computer off to get the vats removed, and emissions taken off. going to get a new coolant temp sensor. I'm also adjusting my TPS to the proper specs. I had .67v on my TPS, it needs to be .50v. Don't know how much this has to do with it, but hell, it's free to try this one out.

And yes, the coolant temp sensor would make everything make sense. The computer thinks the engine is always cold, keeping it idling high, keeping it running rich etc..

Alrighty, new temp sensor on the water pump, new IAC on the throttle body, TPS adjusted to 0.50V, runs a lot, lot better, can't get it to stall out anymore, but that darn idle won't go below 1500 rpm's. Then when I start driving it won't go below 2000 rpm's when I pull up to a stop light, or stop sign. I have to tap the gas, then the idle will settle back down to 1500. These 1500 rpm's are real smooth though, not too loud. I don't know, I have an after market tach, maybe it's not reading properly. Anyone have any thoughts? I know about the O2's, and the diagnostic port needs to be done, but....

Since i already have an O2 on the pass. side, could I just run a "jumper" wire from the O2 plug on the driver side to the pass side? So at least it would be getting some kind of signal?

does it run fine when you first start it or does it always idle crappy?

when the pcm is in open loop it won't use any info from the O2s.

It doesn't really ever Idle "crappy", just high, it's real smooth, right at start up, and after warm up is the same.

Check your throttle cable, it may be too tight. Disconnect it and try it.
