If you haven't noticed, we're trying to help. If you read in here before you installed it, you would find that locktite is a very good thing to extend the life of the opti. Real men don't follow included instructions, they make their own from experience.
Now stop your bitching and get to tearing that thing open, because you've gone over everything else already.
If you don't want to take our advice, so be it, we've just been down the same road and are trying to save you some pain.

well i dont consider the thread lock or ban suggestions or trying to make me look like a big ole dummy helping me, i think it moreso acting like someone with a small *****.im not afraid of being wrong at all but dont try to pull these psych games on me just cause im not the lt1 God.
ive been in a situation before where i did somehing precautionary and it voided my warranty.but it may very well be different in this case.but at the same time whose to say that the rotor even came off? since a few want to stab me with the loctite sword.but anyway moving forward i have class tonight so itll be at least tomorrow before i can even start to teardown.

Stop acting like a paranoid woman. We're not out to get you or boost ourselves up.
It shouldn't void the warranty, it's not a GM dealership.
If you have been over the entire engine already, use the process of elimination. What's next that you haven't checked out?

Ok, well, there you go. That's troubleshooting. No offense intended. Our guidance is based on information you provide. That's an important detail. If spark's going into the dist. from the coil, and not coming out you could have had the rotor pull off. You can get an e-torx socket at Autozone that will fit the opti cap screws for about $5.00. The even smaller torx screws that hold the rotor are a size you'll find in most $10-$12.00 sets at Home Depot (red/black case with clear cover). Red Loc-Tite threadlocker is about $6.00. These distributors don't have any kind of tamper seal and I don't think anyone would void your warranty for taking extra precaution with your investment. Best of luck and keep us posted on what happens.

Yes, obviously no spark but where you're losing it is the important thing, as you pointed out in post #49.

the first thing i would check is spark coming out of the coil to the opti, if there is spark, then its probably the opti, if not then coil or icm, even though you said you have replaced the coil/icm i would still check it.

I think it's pretty weeeetoddid that you need to pull apart a brand new opti to add Loc-tite to screws when these manufacturers should already know that this could be a possible issue.

update: well the rain slacked up enough for me to do some thourough testing on the opti. thanks to shbox site i was able to test everything with my meter and the conclusion is the optical sensor in the opti took a dump.the pcm signals tested fine and the oipti harness is fine.but the opti sensor wasnt sending the signal to the pcm that tells the icm its time to fire the coil.when cranking the car there was suppose to be a 1 to 4vac pulse to the icm and i had 0v. so there it is.ima get started on dissassembling the car whenever the rain slacks up again

Please don't think me an ***, but you did make sure to change the leads over to measure AC voltage, right? I do applaud your efforts to troubleshoot the problem, though. shbox is a trusted resource. Good work...
