Default Will I notice a Difference?

I know this belongs in the Automatic Trans section, But honestly, I trust you Lt1's guys, So I post everything here.

I am going to purchase a 3000 stall converter from Yank, hopefully this afternoon.

I originally wanted the SS3600, but the deal they are having on Stealth stall converters is outrageous...

I just wanna know if I am going to notice a big difference in performance wise, from roll races, and dig races... anything else I notice a difference with, please let me know...

Stalls are not very "roll race" friendly since their primary job is for launch ability from a stop.......your really in 6spd territory with roll racing.
I am sure a few will join in to share more.

Yes you will definitely feel a difference. Your 60' times will improve. As far as roll racing, with a good tune, you should notice your gaps in between your hot spots will be smaller. For example, you might downshift into a lower gear at a particular speed when it wouldn't have downshifted before the stall and tune.

Gotcha. Even with street tires when I launch will I still gain or just spin harder and lose time?

Drag radials or some really serious street tires would be a good idea for traction.

I have DR's for the track... But If i Decide to run somebody on the street for some fun from a dig.... am I gonna gain on them more with or without the stall ?

It all depends on how good you are at moderating throttle and what kind of rubber you run on the street. You aren't going to be able to stall it up very high on street tires to get an optimum launch. I used to run my car on Mickey Thompson ET Street radials all the time. They really hook.

A stall will help a lot both from a dig and from a roll due to the shift extension.

You'll pick up from a dig assuming you can hook - stalled autos will roast most street tires from a standstill so you have to learn how to launch at the point of traction and roll into the throttle.

You would be "happier" with the SS 3600.

if you get a 3000 stall, it will be a great improvement over stock. People always say you will want more, but YOU may or may not-especially if it's a street car. You can always upgrade later if need be.
