Default FPR Took a Dump - which one to replace?

Well guys my Adj FPR finally took a dump and found out last night when I took the vac line off and got a strong smell of gas. Guess the diaphram is finally gone. No wonder I've had a strong fuel smell and also major issues tuning this biotch. We'll I'm gonna get a new one, and I'm looking at the following:

Holly 512-502

or

Aeromotive 13107

Which one do you prefer?

Also, any sponsors here that sell these suckers or do I need to stick with Jegs/Summit?

Injector size/rate is tuned via PCM. The injectors you use should operate on stock fuel pressure which is between 43 and 45psi (specifically written as 43.5psi via GM) which is where a stock regulator operates at.

Like SS RRR said I would go stock unless you are using a wild set up with custom rails and high flow rate injectors that need to be dialed in. The tune is usually done with the stock pressures in mind so if its off the injector will inject a different amount of fuel.

Thanks SS, yup everything in my tune is dialed in for these injectors. Now, that will save me some $$$, so I have a hookup at AdvanceAuto Parts, what do you think of the BWD OE replacement?

I have no idea. I don't have warm fuzzies regarding aftermarket replacement parts right now. I just replaced my radiator with one from Autozone and all the hose ports as well as the tabs for the low coolant sensor are smaller. I had to get hose clamps for everything connecting to the radiator most everything was leaking.
Instead of going with something from a parts store made in Mexico, I'd probably opt for one from GM which is most likely made in Mexico, that is if it hasn't been discontinued...

I used that one on mine it works great. Just check it with a fuel pressure gauge to make sure it works right before you rely on it.

Cool - thanks.

I've had this ADJ model on here since 99' when we built the motor and it's the Accel model that looks stock with an allen screw for adjustability. Don't think I can rebuilt it so I'll get the OEM replacement.

Stock. I've said it before, but an adjustable fuel pressure regulator is one of the most misunderstood and misused parts. It is rarely a necessity, not to mention several of the aftermarket units have been known to leak - extremely dangerous of course.

I have the stock 120k mile regulator on my car and have no intentions of changing it.

Dave,

If your in a bind I got a Aeromotive one, brand new in the box for 94+ rails. If you need it let me know, you can just order one and give me that one. Or just pop this one on and see if thats your problem.

Thanks Neil, I really appreciate that. However, I just picked up the BWD OE unit today from Advance and I'm gonna give it a shot this weekend. I'll let u know how it goes. Don't really need the adjustability so we'll see.

I replaced mine with a Delphi from Napa. Most likely the stock piece.
