Default intake elbow

My stock intake elbow is torn where it clamps to the TB. I want to replace and good suggestions? I already have a cai and got rid of the air silencer and plugged it. I still have the big bulky baffle any suggestions on getting rid of that also? Thanks.

Trickflow, vortech, and CRT on eBay all sell them. IMO trickflow is the best quality piece

trickflow is the best imo, vortech has that silly air divider and doesn't look as good as the trickflow.

Trickflow elbow is a lot smaller than the stocker and with that sharp 90 degree bend you want all the volume that will fit there.

Will the smaller trickflow hurt? Or will it be better because it is not rough like the stock its smooth polymer.?

The ceramic TFS elbow was worth 10hp over the factory piece in the tests I saw.

I went with the crt due to my stocker being mangled by the last owner. It's not bad for the price and looks great but its really only good for looks.

lol im sure you believe that too dont you?

I like the jegs powder coated one, i used a trickflow stained one before and the CAI would not fit correct for me and i had to trim the elbow some for better fitment. But if i had to do it again i would just buy a silicon elbow that was 4in to 3in and go that route since silicon dont hold heat like metel does and its much cheaper than an LE1 elbow. plus you can get them in a few diffrent colors at www.Siliconintakes.com for right around 25 bucks. And you will only have one clamp onm each end so it cleans it up some and talking about cleaning up the silicon is very simple to keep clean as well.

On the silicon intakes how do you connect the vacuum line for the opti? Do you just drill a hole in it?

Yes i think every aftermarket elbow needs the little hole drilled into it. i would poke a very small hole and push it in snug. the silicon ones are very nice in my opinion and look sharp as well

I think i'm going to order one. Do you get the clamps that they sell or use the stock ones? My stock ones look like crap but i dont want to order the other ones if they wont fit.

I believe hes just talking about for the outside of the silicone coupler. IIRC the mouth of the TB is 4" and the MAF is 3.5".... atleast thats what it is on my car. You can try to find a silicone turbo adapter 4" to 3.5" in a 90. that should fit onto everything ok. But it might be to tight of a radius. im not sure
