looking for some advise i have a 96 z28 auto with shift kit, 342 gears, long tubes, k&n intake nothing crazy but looking into doing the cc503 cam was wounder what torque converter i should use it will be my D/D and what do you guys think of the b&m holeshot converter for the price ? was looking at the yank but double the price.

I have a Yank SS3600 in my 4900 lb pickup with 3.73 gears and 29" tires. It's even better than the Vig 3000 I previously had in it.
So, what I'm saying is........ it's DEFINITELY not too big for a little F-body!

that B&M converter you mentioned: not a bargain even if it were free. Not even worth the cost & time of installation.

Not knocking your choice of setup, but for a light car with 3.73 gears, a 1.70 60' is not exactly a strong advertising point for that fti 3600.
FWIW, Yank SS3600 in a 3950 lb bolt-on car: best to worst range of 60's, depending on weather and track = 1.57 to 1.63

 

I did a 1.70 with nitto drag radials and umi non adjustable lca everything else stock i think thats pretty good for a car that only made 255rwhp before full exhaust. If you think i can cut a better 60 please give me some tips. i would love to be in the 1.6's

 

1.67 60ft here with the SS3600. oh with BONE STOCK SUSPENSION as well.

oh and did i mention i dd all summer and it legit feels just like stock?

to OP this is one mod u DO NOT cheap out on TRUST ME. get a SS3600 or a SS4000. trust me on this one

 

my car is bolt ons and evantually getting a 503 cam, i have the yank ss3600, it works good on the street and is a good piece.
