Well i just got back. Tried a few more things and still nothing. It will start once and then run for about 15 seconds then die, so i tried to start it again and i flipped the key to engine off key on and fuel pump primed like it is supposed to then stopped, then 3 seconds later it started priming again. Does that sound like an electrical problem because i got to thinking maybe i shorted something when i tried to install the shift light i got because it all started when i got it put in and it didnt work? I ran the power wire to the radio power wire and grounded in the radio ground and the tach wire to the white wire that runs the computer under the passenger kick panel. If i cant figure it out before i have to leave again then im going to have to pull it to a mechanic.

Update. Got it scanned and pulled 16 low resolution pulse, and 36 high resolution pulse so it looks like it was the opti all along. Should have known.

And the OPTI strikes again. It was only 1,500 miles old? Just a suggestion. Check that water pump, if the seep hole is leaking AF onto the opti, that will absolutely cause premature failure of the OPTI. You can tell if the WP is bad if there is visual fluid leakage, if it looks moist on the bottom, or if its stained/discolored on the bottom. I would sure invest in a new WP if this is the case. I can't think of any other reason for an OPTI to go bad after just 1,500 mi. Use new seals, and check for intake leakage at the front of the motor. Something caused that OPTI to prematurely fail.

Spend money on the new deal. Also, I read something about loctiting the rotor bolts. I would do a search and see what that is supposed to do.

So I just got word back from my mechanic. It turns out the issue with my car is a bad PCM. Time to dump some cash.
