hmm... I ran quicker than ss mpstr with his Ai stuff on the same track. But then again his car is caged, fully tuned, and he's actually running more cam than me I'm still running a bent up stock swaybar with no subframes or cage after all.

So it seems my thread got it's cool though. A big update though below.

A few things have changed, and I feel the change is for the better. I am going all AI for the majority of the build. I am getting AI 215 TFS heads, AI solid roller valvetrain package, AI solid roller cam (Don't know duration, lobe size, etc. etc. yet; should be fairly aggressive though.) I am also going with some Diamond NITROUS pistons for my current compstar crank and rods. The reason being is because I am going N/A with some spray. I talked to Graham over at nitrous outlet and got setup with a nice direct port system for my victor efi. This kit will have the works and I should be able to hit my 700-800 rwhp goals this way. I wanted to make a 1000 but that will have to wait a little while longer.

The reason I decided to go N2O is because I can do it now, unlike the turbo's. It is thousands cheaper than the turbos and I have some sneaky plans up my sleeve for the setup. Hopefully this build will start soon, HOPEFULLY.

The nice part about boost is that you can make up for the deficiencies of a head with turning up the boost level.

It's not ideal to do that, but it is fact.

As long as you have a solid plan on the turbo setup (assuming you are still gonna run twins), then don't loose sleep over it. I would go aftermarket casting because of the thicker deck. It's up to you who you want to do the port work (LE, AI, Port Pros, AFR CNC, etc.). All the options I listed will get you to your goal... especially since you want a modest goal of 1000rwhp with twins.

I may run turbo's on the next build but I am fully commited to N20 for this build. There are many LT1's running in the 8's on N2O and that is more than plenty enough for me. Plus the car should have good street manners.

My chassis is clearly setup for the dragstrip... I still managed over 95mph in the 1/8th and 120 in the 1/4 in a full weight stock shortblock car. It's clearly not making any power since lt1's are doing that left and right.

Lol at this whole thread. So many bitter posts in here.

Good luck on the buildup (to the OP), you made a good choice.

Of the 3 n20 LT1's in the 8's I think 1 is actually street driven.

..with a crappier 60 foot too, I recall, and not sure what the DA was on your day. Not sure what your point is either.

I agree with the plot twist this thread has taken. I have learned many things within this thread though.

Thanks, I think so 2.

I talked to Ron at AI todays and I am wating on a quote from them and some more funds to come in and I should be on my way.

I did not mean I want to run in the 8's. My car is more of a street car over an all out drag car. I will have a motor that is comparable in many ways to a drag car, but a little milder.

Can't we all just get along. If it makes anybody feel better my car as it sits right now would get smoked by all of you.

I don't get it either? Especially since you aren't running E85.

Yes the avatar is funny, however I would expect more from you than to start with the generic "AI > everything" response that a lot of these other titty babies resort to. I am all for you not following the norm and trying out new things. I wish you the best of success, however don't you think it's a little ridiculous to be comparing what you are doing with your setup to someone who isn't running E85 and is using LTx heads/intake?

Aww c'mon, stop being so serious it's all in good fun. I don't care about Ai, AFR, LE or Richard Simmons. My setup runs what it runs, and the limiting factor would obvoiusly be me not the parts I'm running. I dunno with only 3 decent passes for me, and about the same for Michael it'd be silly to think either of us is at the peak of our game. You sir, are at the peak of your man-crush game for sure

C'mon now. All I did was call a ************ out. Anyone who becomes smitten enough to use a cam by a known hack takes top rank in the man crush category.
