Default Engine Coolant overflow

Hey just was seeing if any of yall might have an explination for this,

Just rebuilt a stock LT1 and was driving it around today. Got home and check on the engine, cuz its still pretty new and was making sure everything is tightened down and all, and i realized that the engine coolant was overflowing out of the cap (bubbling and making hissing noises) . I waited a little while and went to releive some of the pressure that it had and it shot up like a guyser. Lost about a gallon of the stuff.

Could this simply be because it was overfilled? Or now that the weather is warmed up it built more pressure?

any explinations are appreciated

Sounds like you have the steam pipe and overflow tube mixed up on the radiator. I'm sure others will chime in tho.

Coming out the radiator cap or reservoir cap? If it is the latter, I would suspect you have the steam line and the remove reservoir line reversed at the radiator. If it was spewing out the radiator cap, either the cap was not on all the way or the cap may need replacement.

prob has air in the system try bleeding it with the bleeder screw on the hose going to the right side of the water pump let it run and crack it open until coolant omes out so make sure all the air is out

it was coming out of the radiator cap, right next to the battery. So maybe it wasnt on tight, i'll screw it on and run it for awhile to see what happens

If it's leaking out the radiator cap, and you're absolutely sure it's on there all the way, then the cap is faulty. Replace it.
