400+ rwhp from stock bottom end
Stock bottom end is very tuff and quite reliable from what I have been told. Only areas of concern are rings with boost and making sure it's true before you start adding lots of power. it can be run no problem within your 430 rwhp range. I would set your goal and figure out how to get there. If that means a refresh of the bottom end then so be it but you could always do something like a 5 year plan and get the bottom end now or latter. Do the heads and cam but if stuff gets messed up it's just gona cost more. for me I like to know the bottom end is sound and ready for the power but I am a bit of an over do'er even though stuff I have had done for me ends up F'd up any way. it may set you back a couple of months like it would me but AI is really good and I wanted so bad to have them put together the entire top end for me but my bottom end was junk so I needed all new parts but the builder I went with talked me into a 383 and then he went cast after I told him I was not keen on cast at all. So then I was stuck knowing I can't exceed 500 flywheel and that ment I had to go conservitive so I went with LE heads and had him make sure the cam he had ground was not going to put me beyond the cranks threshold. I got screewed in my mind because I didn't watch them like a hawk. The engine now sits on a stand due to other broblems with that builder as I clean up this mess but I am stuck right now with what I have so I will make it work. Point is be damn sure you know what you need to get you where you want to go before the cash starts flying out of your pocket so fast you will need an Bush/Obama bail out to finish it the way you want. Planing is not a bad thing lol and it seems your doing it somewhat right but be real sure before you spend a dime.
Why are you so set on a particular hp goal? We have a "happy" dyno near me that you could use. It will make a 380rwhp car hit that exclusive 400hp mark, but the car will feel the same.
My car runs the stock shortblock and I spin it to 68-6900 all the time. It was assembled with new bearings and a new oil pump. Not sure what it dynoes nor do I care. A dyno is for tuning not for bragging.

I didnt take offense, I just didnt understand lol. Needed you to clarify, but yeah, I get traction now...read my inevitable thread haha. I broke the 10-bolt carrier yesterday.
By supporting mods, he also means Rear End and suspension upgrades which are AT LEAST half of what you are looking to spend...
I see you have a built tranny but if you have a stock rear end you HAVE to upgrade it.......ask me how I know lmao.

Oook i get what you mean now... i have a built trans. and alot of suspention work... im just worried about rear. im not going to do any races from a stop so im not too worried about it... but i imagine it will happen eventually
dont imagine.....it WILL
the 10-bolt is WORTHLESS and with that much HP it WILL break on you...plan for it NOW, don't wait. I was lucky I planned cause now I will only be down for a couple weeks at the MOST and I am only out 130 bucks because I had to rush a couple small parts...I already had the main of it together because I have been planning this for 9 months. If you dont plan for and account for it, you will be SOL when it breaks.....and emphasis on the WHEN!
besides....Roll racing is GAY!!! LMAO

PP its a street car gregrob what you expect! lol and Im not blowing all my money on this build so WHEN it does go out, ill be ready. and dont hate on the roll racers. we all gm guys here lol andddd stuff gets broke... ill race from a dig all day right now... cause i can hook up so much better with my stall and low HP than you high horsepower cars... but after im putting down more power im not gonna risk that lol
lol risks of racing dude...soyour basically just gonna roll race that thing as long as it takes till you build a rear? I doubt it...the urge will be too great...trust me........lol
hahahha i totally know what you mean... some ricer wanting to show off and you just wanna eat him up... lol i know allllll about that. but ima try and be "mature" about it. lol
I have a list of who i wanna beat. i got a friend with a 03 cobra. 65 mustang w/ 347 stroker and a little notch back mustang... this build should do the trick... cobra might be tricky.. he has a ported stock blower, but ima stll try him
