Default Can the hypertech be of any help?

Hey guys, my car has a PCM for less tune right now, that im not the happiest with. I need my AFR leaned out, shift points changed, and speedo calibrated for different gears. My buddy has a hypertech programmer he's gonna let me borrow if i want, now my question is, can i use it since my pcm is already tuned?? I know i can't do anything in depth with it, but i was just gonna tinker with it and change for the gears. I just don't know if it will work or not, let me know guys. Thanks!

if your car is a 95 then no you cant use a hypertech programmer. They are only for 96 and up cars.

You can't use it because it is already reprogrammed, then you can't "borrow" one because they only work on one vehicle at a time.
You can't really use it to lean out the AFR, it does some but not in a way you have any control over.
Beyond all that the Hypertech is crap anyway.

My buddies car is broke down, so he already put it back to stock, i know it wouldn't work without doing that. But, either way, I can't use it at all since my PCM is already programmed?

You could use it to change shift points (to a small extent) and gear ratio, but if you try to do any "tuning" with it, it will override the tune you already have. It won't let you do arbitrary performance tuning, anyway. It only has a pre-programmed tune that it uses.

So i can technically use it? You're sure that if i just change shift points and gear ratio adjustments it won't mess up my whole tune all together? If it does, will the car still be okay? Im looking to have my PCM re-tuned in the near future anyway. I just wanna use the hypertech now if it will help me at all.

WRONG SIR, Ive used them on my 94 for changing shift points, turning the fans on sooner, and deleting the speed limiter

Ok I stand corrected. I always read that they were only for 96 and up cars. Thanks for clearing that up.

Yea my buddies car is a '95 just like mine. So, i can use it? Will it totally erase my PCM tune if i just change shift points and adjust for gears?

Read what shbox said, he gave you the correct answer. Yes you can but not for the tune just for changing specificities
