Default car is leaking fluid.. not sure what it is

i noticed that the trans am is leaking fluid. seems to be leaking right under the block somewhere/the front of the car. the fluid itself has a red tint to it. so before i started it up, i checked all the fluids. the only fluid that was low was the coolant. trans fluid was a tiny low, but not bad at all.

after starting it up, i let it run for a good 20 mins and it never overheated, made any weird sounds, or anything out of the ordinary. so im alittle confused about what this "mystery fluid" could be. i always thought that coolant was green or blue.. and if it was really low on coolant, wouldn't it overheat pretty quick?

any one have any suggestions or help?

Transmission fluid is red. Probably leaking from the lines running to the radiator.

Also could be power steering fluid.

how hard is it to swap in new lines if it is the tranny fluid?

check the hose between the power steering reservoir (located behind the battery) to the pump itself.

is it leaking on the passenger or drivers side

Degrease the bottom of the car. tranny, engine and accessories and all hoses linked to and from everything. Once cleaned and dry place a big enough piece of CLEAN cardboard under the engine bay and transmission and run the car til its at running temp and let cool down til you can touch it. cardboard will show where its leaking from and it should be clean so any fresh fluid will clearly show up.

seems like its leaking more towards the drivers side.

Might also be the radiator or radiator hose. If it still has dex-cool antifreeze as that also has a red tint.

if its leaking from the drivers side its more than likely the power steering lines at the pump

while i had the car started, i turned the wheel while it was sitting there and it took little effort to turn the wheel. wouldnt it be hard to turn if all my power steering fluid leaked out?

when i unscrewed the cap and checked the coolant, there was just alittle in the tank. but the car never overheated or anything? thats what confuses me.

it would take more effort if the reservoir was low enough to not have fluid when the rack and pump needed it, check the level and go from there

The power steering pump will start whining before it gets hard to turn. If its coolant youll be able to tell by the way it feels.
