Lets build a 383 ? "forum group effort"

It is not too much compression for pumpgas if everything else is dead on. You will need at least 93octane fuel always or E85 preferrably if available. If u only get 91 octane then you can go with a thicker headgasket to lower compression a little to be safe. I have personally run 11.1 compression with a 150shot and got awazy with it by pulling timing but later when i pulled the engine u could see it was detonating a little, ran low 10's on n2o@133+mph. If u have E85 readily available then it's no problem, if not have Lloyd custom grind a cam with that bleeds off cylinder pressure. My, 12.1 compression, 383 ran 10.80's@127mph N/A on straight 93octane pumpgas with LE3 heads/cam setup. I have the complete balanced 383 Lt1 rotating assembly with 20 passes maybe if u need. I built my car with a no-chances, no-compromises mentality, which has served me VERY well so far, and it seems like you're doing both. I've seen the results of such an approach and it isn't pretty.
Just my humble opinion, that's all.
Oh, and you want to daily-drive a HUGE cam and a small stall with low static compression - that doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Just sayin'.
