How to go about replacing the exhaust manifold gasket??
Hey guys, well in the next couple days i will be replacing my passenger side exhaust manifold gasket and am wanting some insight. This is the first time i'll ever do this on an lt1, so what is the process? Just looking for tips, helpful advice, any insight at all. Thanks guys

Thanks guys, i'm using the Fel-Pro gaskets. Do i have to take anything else off, or should i to make it go easier? Does everyone go from the top of the engine bay or from the bottom?

Good advice above, I've done quite a few of these for people as well as my own.
Skinny arms, PB blaster, clean mating surfaces and a swear jar.
Take your time, and torque them down right but don't overdo it and strip the head.
Most gaskets will hang on the outer mounting bolts while you install the rest.
That way, you can leave the manifold hanging without letting it drop completely.
That thing is heavy and can be hard to line up while holding a gasket in place and trying to turn a bolt.
There are a few companies offering header bolts with 12pt caps and/or provisions for allen wrenches.
That sure does make getting the bolts on there a lot easier if you decide to run headers.
Locking bolts are a nice too, but they can be a pain to install.
