Default 383 LT1 Fuel Injector Selection

I’m beginning the selection process of new fuel injectors for my LT1. Hoping that some of you might be able to provide some feedback on preferred brands, impedance & sizes. Here is a quick break down of modifications we’ve done this winter:

•Professionally built, Internally balanced and blue printed 383cid stroker lower end (forged and studded).
•Comp XFI 292 Cam w/ a full roller valve train
•Rings were file fit to handle NOS. Intend on using a single stage 150 hp shot on occasion at the track
•LT1LE2 port job on the stock heads
•Match ported intake w/ a BBK 58mm throttle body
•Long tube headers, true duals w/ an X-pipe
•Full MSD ignition (billet distributor, wires, Coil pack and 6AL box)
•Single Walbro 255 fuel pump w/ an Accel adjustable regulator

Getting ready to stuff the motor back in next weekend. Looking for advice on what injector should be used. Don’t want to find out on the chassis dyno that I don’t have enough injector to feed it. Your comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!! Jason

what kind of nitrous you looking to hit it with? wet or dry?

I'd say 30# SVOs for a wet shot, 36-42# injectors with a dry shot

Same ? here. How much injectors are needed for say a 383 all motor 450+rwhp, then top off another 175-200 wet shot?

I'll be using a Wet Kit made by Barry Grant. Its the 13070 LT1 Spary Bar set up.

My green top SVO 42# were fine at 460 RWHP NA in a previous LTX Stroker build. For a wet shot, injectors don't matter. You need to make sure your fuel pump and fuel system capacity keep up.

that is good to know. thank you. do you think a single walbro pump is enough, or should I look at dual pumps?

There are a lot of things to consider... fuel pressure, engine HP, NOS size, wet or dry, etc.

You may come up short on a single Walbro... Unless you will stay below 550rwhp.

If you want to give me call, I can help you work out the details of your fuel system.

A 255 pump and 42# injectors should provide what you need N/A
I got those parts from Racetronix.

But like Lonnie said, depending on how you plan to feed your N20 setup, you might run into issues.
That setup should easily make over 400rwhp so you're really pushing the limits of the pump if you add 150.
As long as you're shopping anyhow, it might not be a bad idea to call him and make use of his advice.

Thanks for the input Lonnie. I'll take you up on that. When I installed the Walbro fuel pump, I had mostly aftermarket bolt on's and an adjustable regulator to control fuel delivery. We went all out this winter on the motor build. Sounds like that will tax the pump for more than it can handle. Look foward to speaking with you.

How are you guys plumbing your wet nitrous systems since our fuel pressure is 43# and most wet NOS systems are setup for no more than 9# of fuel pressure?

Here's the link to the kit I've selected, the part number is 13070 which is made for the LT1 platform and year range of my vehicle.

This kit has a fuel and a nitrious solenoid which control the pressure delivered in to plate.
