easiest way to get to your plugs is first ditch the stock manifolds for some long tubes. if you've already done that, the next step is to find the stubbiest 5/8 spark plug socket you can and then grind it down even shorter. use an open ended wrench on the back on the socket to turn it.
I have Jet Hot/Hooker long tubes and from the top, reaching around blindly, is my best angle.

I never had a problem getting it out. It was always getting it back in for me that sucked. I used a socket and then added the wrench on after I got the socket on it. Then I would only turn it one or 2 turns and use a my hand the rest of the way so the extesion wont get stuck on it. then it took my wife and her skinny long arms 45 min to get it started on the threads the correct way and not cross threaded. I could not get my arm in there.

I was able to get at it from underneath much easier. I have stock manifolds right now. Just did my wires Thursday and i need to change to a different plug so i get to swap plugs out tomorrow.

If I recall correctly, the easiest way to get the rear passenger plug is to lay on top of the engine, and reach in from the top. I think someone even called it the "Superman" position. ![Grin](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_grin.gif)

(Wow, I can't believe it was that long ago that I changed the plugs in my old LT1, LOL.)
