over all though the car felt a LOT better and now i have a better piece of mind knowing it's not knocking like crazy and pulling the max amount of timing it can (7) from 4-6k rpms! we'll definitely have to mess with it some more to get it really fined tuned but i'm super happy with how it is now
Hell yeah man get that boost controller set and that wideband working so we can do some more fueling work. I did a couple tweaks after you left so whenever you want let me know and we can do some more test and tune.

I'd like to go to the track for some real test and tune sometime. Only problem is we can only do your car or mine with that pitiful battery... Of course we could use your computer too... I can't do this Friday though.

What would you suggest? Or how much do you roughly have into your setup? If you don't mind me asking.

are you running stock valve springs?

if so change them before you go to the track. It's amazing what a good set of valve springs will do to a boosted vehicle.

i have less than $2k into my entire set-up. somewhere around $1,800-1,900

the sts kit costs $4-5k and doesn't come with a $150 fuel pump, $2-300 injectors, or $200+ tune

unfrotunately though unless you can fab it yourself or know someone that can you're kinda stuck with the sts kit

yes i want to do 1.6 roller rockers and new valve springs. i'm in college and unemployed so i dont have money to really do anything more to my car :/ in time though! i'm thinking about throwing the lt4 springs on tho just as a slight upgrade to the shitty stock 147k mile springs since they're only like $35

STS set-up (used); included manual boost control, BOV, wastegate, piping, GT40, and wiring: $3,200
42 SVO injectors (used): $200
Walbro 255: $100
Various piping and couplers: $400
Exhaust wrapping and stainless ties: $175
Trickflow intake elbow (because rubber coupler blew off under boost) $80
Catch can, fittings, and hoses for PCV system: $220

Having to cut off a perfectly good Hotchkis SFC = priceless
Motor blown after 900 miles = priceless

In all reality, a lot of little things will rape you on these builds. My motor is ready to be dropped out, and get the full monty of forged goodness. I am keeping it rear-mount, but I am making sure my motor will handle it this time.

Well, I was just being honest with you. I expected my motor not to last, these LT1s don't like boost. Oh well... F/I is not a cheap route to go for HP.

I think maybe its the excessive amount of fuel that you have in there that is saving you during times like these? Maybe, i'm not really sure how well that would work, but i'm super impressed by how long that thing has lasted

Yeah, I am surprised that your motor has held together for so long.

That's pretty lean for the typical boosted tune.

11.6-12.1..

Yeah I'm retarded. Considering I dropped 3 tenths off your commanded hoping for about 11.5... I'm definitely stupid. 12.8 - 0.3 doesn't equal 11.5

I'll shut up now.
