I got quoted 6 hours for gears, a day and a half for a torque converter, and was just told this guy wants to pull my heads to do my valvetrain..

A torque converter in an f-body can be swapped on a lunch break. There is absolutely no reason to pull the heads unless you are changing valves or machining the head for larger springs or something. The gear swap is high on labor time but not out of this world.

X2 I swear to god! Dealing with automotive shops and namebrand aftermarket is like dealing with a pawn shop theses days! Take a rubber with u when u pick it up or run like a ****!

It should only take a shop a day and a half on the converter if the tech is holding a sandwich in one hand the entire time and is forced to pound back 5 cases of beer. Hell I think 2 hours out, trans wont have to come all the way out just enough room to slip the old one off and new one back on and then hour and a half to put it back in and then 30min to fill and be ready for a test drive buttoning up what ever and double checking.
