Unhappy 4$ gas

Went to gas station today, and fill up the tank look down saw $3.99, last week when I fill up it was $2.88. 1 dollar somthing might not be different, but I went thru full tank every week . I was thinking looking somthing else.. What your gas price at your area ?

$4.09 for premium. Has been above $3 for premium in North Texas for quite some time now.

LOL, I was paying over $5 a gallon for premium in either summer of 08 or 09, and so was everyone else in the north texas area. Honestly, if you spend the money on an import, say bottom dollar of $1500 for it, then you still have to put gas in it, maintenance, insurance. By the time it's said and done, and gas drops back down you will be lucky to break even, and you will have been driving a shitty DD that you do not enjoy... Just some food for thought.

So how long do you think it will take you to break even after the purchase of a gas sipper given the price of gas now?

For me, if I were to purchase a 30mpg vehicle it would save me $35 or so a week on gas. If it cost $3500 then it would take me roughly 100 weeks or just under 2 years before I would break even on the cost. That's not even counting the insurance and maintenance costs of a 10+ year old rust bucket.

I wish I didn't have to worry about it. It's 3.79 for regulara and over 4 for premium. I'm not so much worry about the premium because my car is in pieces again. But I'm a locksmith and I fill up everywhere day at 32 gallons....so that's over $120 dollars each time. That sucks.
