Default Startin a new Build.. '95 Trans am Got Some Questions.

I Just Picked up this 95 Trans am M6 LT1 Car. 98-02 front end. Car ALready has headers and the Ram Air is Fuctional. Havent heard the car run yet but its supposed to have a Cam but due to a Blown Head Gasket it doesnt Run. Hopefully thats all that it is.....

Plans are to Pull the heads and Slide a cam in if it doesnt have one. Deelete all the EGR, Air Pump. Port ans Polish the Top End if it isnt already Done. make sure its Runnin Good and Take it to the track.

I have reabuilt two of these Cars already and have kept them for a couple weeks then sold them to make some money, I might keep this car for awhile but well see.

I Have a Set of 18" Z06 Wheels but i need to know how big i can go for a tire on the rear.. will a 315 fit or do i need to stay around 275-285 range..

Also I would like to do Over the Valve Cover Spark Plug Wires. Makes it easier right??

How Big Can i go on a Cam with Stock Springs in the Heads? last car had a CC503 Cam Which worked Great but it also Had Springs to go with it...

I have a set of LT4 Heads But i need an Intake. a guy on Craigslist has a LT4 kit for 450 Bucks Roller Rockers Springs and Cam..

The Car Has Black Leather Intreior but it needs Some work. Seats are Pretty Rough and the Door panels Could be Replaced. Stock Shifter. I PLan on Doing Gauges in the A/c Vents and Maybe a Nice Cd player. but not really into Bumpin Systems.

Let me know what you think What i should do Im open To opinions. Thanks

Also, no cam bigger than the stocker should be ran with stock springs, you're just asking for trouble then.

Looks like a good base. I just bought one in similar problems and am going to bring it back to its former glory.

The stock springs are good for the stock cam and that is it. Usually when people upgrade cams, they swap to 1.6 rockers. Not always the case but it usually is. With stock rockers in there i'd bet it is a stock cam and springs.

Measure the lobe lift. Take off a rocker, make sure the pushrod is still centered in the lifter and spin the motor over by hand. Let us know what it says.

Well Got the Motor Tore apart...Had a Piece of what looked like Bearing Material in the number 5 Cylinder. The PIston Jammed it into the head and Actually bent to Head and The Gasket Leaked antifreeze into the cylinder. But on a positive Note it does have Forged SRP Pistons. its Bored .040 over and if i could get the Damper off i would tell you what cam it has in it. But its Going to the Machine shop Tomorrow. also THe Heads have been Ported and Polished.

LT4 Hotcam Kit is decent...I have it and it has good power and is driveable on the street. I guess it depends what your going for...power, DD, or a nice balance.
