It all depends on your budget and goals. It will cost more to swap your car to LS but could be worth it in the long run. If you take a 6.0 LSX shortblock and 383 LTX shortblock and put 5k into both.. what will make more power and run better daily? Again, its personal preference to LSx/LTx and money.

forgive me for for asking this dumb question (im 16) but how much power diff would be between stock ported and polished heads, gm 847,383 with all the supporting mods vs stock ported heads stock cubed ls1 or lq4 ms4 cam with all the supporting mods be?

In my head the 383 conf seems like it it would run faster but i've seen members sig where h/c/i cars are only running high 12's and i've seen full exhaust ls1 cars with a lid and dr's get that. from that standpoint the lsx sound better but would the setup i listed above not make comparable power?
The LS will make more power due to the better flowing heads. If you stay LT you need to buy the best flowing set of heads. It would probably be close though.

I wouldn't go off track times. You see all kinds of numbers on this board. Bolt on I was running 13.1@108 with a 2.0 60ft. H/C 12.7@116 2.1 60ft with 440HP. You can make all kinds of power but if your not getting it to the ground it is useless.

lt1 383 stroker kit around $2k from eagle+ shipping, good cam rr's = $700 heads 2k or more. 6.0 or ls1 1500-2000 + cam $700 bolton's $1000 would the cars be equal? for around the same price though? not sure how much the drivetrain swap is though.

Build your own stroker with stock crank... That will save you about 600-800 bucks.. And with that money you can put a bigger cam and heads on it and be faster than an Ls1

sorry to keep asking questions but how could you build a 383 off stock crank and could you put a 100 wet shot to it?

If you have two motors with the exact same top end but one has more cubic inches you will notice first off the torque curve occurs sooner in the higher cubed motor and the percentage of HP rises accordingly with the higher cubed motor.
