Its marketing. It's no truer or false than it is for any other rocker. In fact, a quality rocker will make more power and be more reliable every time. Harland Sharp is hardly what I would call top of the line. But they work for some I suppose.

I would say what is your price budget? And why are you switching rr's and keeping a stock cam?

plus i never have been a huge fan of the lumpy cam sound,

i like a normal sounding car that will surprise people. if you hear a cam people think that is a fast car. they dont race you or if they do they think that you automatically run 10's

i am just looking for a low to mid 12 sec car on boltons no spray

There are no "top 3 rockers". You get what you pay for.

Comp Ultra Pro Mags are nice

After two sets of Comp Promags, I still favor the Scorpions.

LOL, ok...

I didnt say anything about pro mags. I said ultra pro mags in the first place.

I have a set of scorpions and I think they're absolute junk. They're no different than any other CHEAP rocker you can go buy.

IMO unless you build you're self a VERY VERY strong valvetrain setup a 1.7 rocker will cause issues due to the added stress on the valve train.........the leverage point is moved so far back on a 1.7 rocker that it adds much more stress to the pushrods, lifters, cam and rocker studs........personally it is not worth the trouble if you were running a solid shaft setup id say ok....but in this case i'd go 1.6's and find urself a nice cam instead with the extra money....

There is a LOT of room between stock and lumpy, to do 1.7s in order to avoid a aftermarket cam because it will be lumpy is just missguided at best.

I'd vote 1.6 rockers. They will make it easier to pick a cam if you decide to. I know you said you don't want to now, but that might change.

In that case, wouldn't the top 3 rockers be the 3 most expensive...
