LT1 Carb Setup
Ok im done with this spider web of crap!
Im going to do a carb setup on my car, my old man is going to help me out setting it up being carbs are more his thing. However, i need alil help with this before i jump right in.
1. Which carb is best for a Lt1 car, its a 383 Brand new w/ 42lbs injector. when engine was dyno'd it put around 475 to the crank. So, which size carb should i go with and brand ?
2. I have the plate for the opti already but is there a special distibutor that i need because of the firewall, how it over hangs the motor and is there a special distibutor that i need because it will not be computer controlled anymore ?
3. Would a 2" warbird hood work with a carb setup or do i have to go to the 4" from VFN ?
4. Is there any wiring that i need to keep from the computer harness ?
5. I know many have done this, what manifold do i need ?
i understand the EFI setup is the best for these cars but at this point where im at, i just want the damn car to run
Any help would be great, the quicker the better.

converted vic, there are several would be a good choice for a manifold, but depending on what the cars purpose is you might want a dual plane? Id say a 850 double pumper, but itll need to be jetted accordingly. Im not sure what type of dizzy people are running but i have a pro billet msd that i was going to use im sure it would fit. The bolt holes have to be welded and redrilled on your vic for them to work with an lt1 or you can get the heads redone to match sbc bolt holes your choice. As for wiring keep what you want to keep, oil pressure, water temp ect.
