Default build thread...good news

So.. went by the engine shop last night to find my short block done. Just did a stock rebuild, new bearings through out, check roundness in rods, polished crank, plate honed cylinders, rings. Freeze galley ect plugs. even painted it black for me.( didn't even ask) Now for the good news. I was planning on running stock heads with my good springs, well....the stock heads needed a valve job..and my le2s were sitting there on the floor disassembled. The reason i wasnt going to use the le2s is because theyve been decked 3 times and the intake seat is about .002 from the deck. So i figured id save them for later and have the seats moved back, decked and new valves put in, well i decided to go ahead and have him start on that lastnight. So good new ill have LE2's to use for less money then i expected. Im having him cc the chambers i assuming theyre going to be pretty small.

Pics coming tomorrow.

I was thinking about doing LE's 224/230 or 228/236 .574/.570 110 LSA cars a six speed will most likely end up on a 26 inch tire, has 4:10s. any suggestions from you guys, car will be driven quiet a bit, and be at the track alot.

I have Lloyds 224/230 (was 223/230) and its a strong cam. Im rocking it with stock 3.42's and i believe a 27-28" tire and the car pulls out really well! With 4.10's im sure itll be alot more responsive. I DD the car and no problems with the cam

******3 TEXT LINES (BLANK LINES ALSO COUNT) IS THE MAX WITH SIG PIC!!!!!! -Admin******

97 Z28 M6
Old motor 385= scrap metal
In Progress=Rebuilt 4 bolt shortblock, stock heads w/pgx springs, LE's 224/230 Cam, so far....
If this is such an important rule, why did they leave 4 lines?

I have Lloyd's 222/230 cam with mods in sig. I DD it, and it runs great. It's not a super choppy lope, but it sounds great if you idle it a little lower. I'm sure you'll be happy with that cam.

Im running LE's 223/230 112lsa cam aswell and it is very responsive with 4.10s. Chops pretty nicely and pulls hard from 1700-6100. IMO its the perfect cam on the street mated with a m6 and 4.10s. Mine setup isnt tuned yet and it still pulls like a ****.

the 224/230 was specd at .573/.568 on a 110 LSA. I assume it will make pretty good power with the le2s, and be great on the street. I just cant decide between that or the 228/236.

id tell you how my grind works if it ever makes it out of the driveway lol. keep hearing funky noises and to scared im gonna break somethin lol. Seems DD'able to me though. Specs in sig.

people Daily cc306 cars, just remember that.

Id go with the bigger of the 2 your looking at, because once its in the block and its running, you arnt gonna want to take it back apart.

Use the bigger one. 2 years after i installed a 503 I'm building a forged 355 and putting a GM847 in it. What I wish I'd have done the first time.

I know, but tuning is imposable here in Eastern Canada. And I know Ion has a great mail order one for my combo. I would sooner have a great working car with old tech, then a poorly tuned car with HP left on the table.

I'll be DD the CC306 from the lil driving i have done on it already if your 6 speed or stalled auto it idles just fine at around 950. I have to stay out of my car though since its tuned for a M6 and its a A4 because had a TH400 behind it
