Well I'm pretty excited!!!
Finally got this car sorted out..........went up sunday with the car and never once heard it pop, backfire, studder or anything. It ran great!!!
I only made three passes.......first pass i babied the car to a 11.1 @ 131
Next pass i launched off idle and ran it out.......went 10.35 @ 130 in 1500ft DA
Last pass of the day i messed with the tune a bit but it didn't launch too good......i hurt the fueling on launch went 10.36 @ 131 in 3000ft DA
the 60''s were 1.55, 1.43 and 1.45.......again I'm happy with that espically with the tune off and me just mashing the throttle from 1800rpm.....
Im very happy with the times for the first passes of the year with the motor firing on all 8. Ran this with 30* of timing (got 4* more to put in it once i get the fueling straightened out). I just need to do some tuning now, my AFR was wayyy lean on launch 15+ and i was bouncing rich down the track 10.7-12.3.........
Plus with the bigger converter now I'm out of gear, I was crossing at 7950-8100 all day which is too high espically once i start fixing the tune and speeding up.........im going to toss my 4.11's back in it and go up friday again to start sorting the car out.........
If i can get some traction and a bunch of passes in friday night I think I may be able to get damnnnn close to a high 9.........
Just wanna say thanks to everybody on here that gave suggestions and ideas as i was trying to fix this.....it sure was a challenging problem!!!
I got some videos of the passes I'll post up tonight.....

What size rear tire are you running? The class rules allow a 30" tire. It is well worth the effort to cut the openings to make a 9" x 30" radial fit. If it were me, I would not give up the gear with a N/A set-up. FYI, a 30" radial is worth a solid tenth over a 30" bias-ply with an automatic.

If it's done right it's really hard to notice that things have been cut (This has been cut front and back).
I have a friend that does all my body work. When he fixed Gump he charged me about $500.00 to stretch things including blending the paint.
Street radials and drag radials are not the same animal, so I really can't give an opinion.

Great news, Mike! Oh the joy of sorting out the electrical/ignition systems.
I'd consider Gizmo's advice if it is feasible. Mechanical advantage is your friend. You have headroom beyond 8, but how far you are willing to turn it I'd determine on a dyno rather than the track.
Good luck!
