Default hv oil pump killed drive gear

OK my car as lost oil pressure it has a new hv oil pump put in about 2000 miles ago the drive gear is the stock one with a 140,000 miles i think this is the problem what you guys think..

we can "guess"....but you will have to pull intake manifold to check the status of the drive gear.

initially you can drain oil and remove the oil level sensor to see if the pick up tube fell off.

also if there is metal shavings on the oil plug...that is a sign "something" is wearing

you dont even have to do that. just tap the pan with your hand to hear if it did fall off. it will bounce around when u do hit it. and pull the intake

Just pulled the drive gear its toast the teeth are gone...

Any stampings on the smooth part of the drive below the teeth?

While the hv pump may have killed the drive, it did have 140k on it so it may have been on its way out. The hv pump may have just finished it off. Did you confirm it was installed properly or in good condition prior to installing the new pump?

was your motor machined for larger bearing clearances..and speced for a HV pump?

or are the bearing clearances stock?

what weight oil you using?

Well, not really gone...just now a smaller size and in more numerous pieces.

no stampings on it when i bought the car the motor had just been rebuilt and they used hv pump im using 5-30 oil..
