So you don't care that the other 15 might be close behind in breaking? Valvesprings don't last 200k on cammed motors like the stockers do... they are a maintenance item.

I'd be uneasy about replacing just one spring unless I knew exactly what brand that and the other 15 are. Like speed_demon said, the other 15 could be on their way out, too.

You don't have to spend big bucks to get a good set of springs. I picked up Patriot Gold double springs with seats, seals, locks, and retainers for around $260, and they're good for a .650" lift.

If you're going to do it do it right and replace them all so you know they are all good.

You cannot match the proper open and closed pressures and install height without knowing what the rest of the springs are.

A spring for your modest setup would be relatively cheap - just get a full kit, change them all, and have piece of mind that the job was done right .

You've got about a 99% chance that the valve hit the piston when the spring broke and bent the valve. How's the pushrod look?

Thunderracing tends to have alot of 10% off sales and they have patriots. The 8401's are what i have so im sure they would work well for you too. I think they were like 230$ after the 10% off.

The 8501's im sure are overkill for your application.

If your install height is 1.750 then the 8401's should be good. Thats if you want patriots. If you want the beehives then the Pacs that everyone else gets would be fine im sure.

id Never change just 1 valve spring.. But thats just me. Its cheap enough for a full patriot gold spring kit to just replace all 16 sets and be done with.

You are going to find that when trying to maintain a modified engine you'll run into the "it just happened to do that..." here and there.
Hopefully it's nothing more than the brand of spring you used.
