Personally I would stear away from ANY STB that bolts to the cowl as a third mounting point as there is ton's of documentation that this flexing can lead to cracked windshields. I have the old Hotchkis 2 point bar and that is the only way I would mount one.

I understand your point, however, I've had a 3 point bar in my car for 14 years without any issues, and believe me, the roads up here in the "snow belt" are far from smooth.....
