Default Granatelli Signature Series Strut Bar

I have one of these on my car and cant find any info about them. I guess they are discontinued. This is what I have on my car (sorry for the dirty engine bay, it has since been creaned):

This is the only other pic I could find of it, on the Granatelli car

If anyone could give me any info on it (good or bad) I would really appreciate it.

It's basically a 3 point STB, similar to those made by several other companies. It's no better or worse than the others....

Does it bolt to the cowl where it passes close to it?

i used to have it, but due to it's super tight fit, removal and installation was very difficult, so i sold it. there are some pictures of my car with it though.

Through a mutual friend, I have the one scj sold. Yes the fitment was odd - I couldnt get all three mounting points to line up so I shaved the cowl part off. Once that was gone, the two shock tower points fell into place. I did notice a *slight* difference in front end stiffness with it but mostly its a good place to lean on when im working under the hood

Yes.

In the "early days" of the 4th gen cars, Granatelli and LG Motorsports were two of the first outfits to offer subframe connectors and shock tower braces. I have the LG Motorsports STB on my car.

I see. It looks nice but it can flex. The Edelbrock brace is the same with a straight tube that eliminates the flex. It's in the way of everything but I don't care, it works.

I don't know how much these bars improve the car's handling. BUT, when I go around turns fast and hard, it feels better and tighter as it hits the expansion joints in the roadway. When the body is under stress like this and you run through some bumps, the body is definitely more stiffer with the bar installed.

The key to these bars is a straight tube from one side to the other and another to reinforce it like a support truss. One offset tube like in the GMS design will flex.

I'd rather have it than not have it.

The LGM bar, which I have, is similar to the picture you posted.

They are useless on our cars considering we don't even have struts.

As it makes my car feel better and tighter in certain circumstances, the statements "dead weight" and "useless on our cars" would appear to be inaccurate.

STBs are not useless...

They make an awesome place to lean on when you work on the car .

What does THAT have to do with it????

The shock/spring assembly is still bolted to the shock tower. The forces generated by cornering are still transmitted to these towers. The STB is an added brace to this part of the car.......
