Default LS1 coil swap question

A friend of mine is going to start getting parts together for this swap and is having trouble finding an f-body timing cover from 96-97. Will a buick roadmaster cover work? Any other covers that will work?

So long as they had a crank sensor, I would figure all 96-97s did? Maybe not though, manufactures have done screwier things.

Edit: He isn't looking hard enough, there is one on Ebay right now, buy it now $30...... KAPOW!

I'll tell him about that. I cannot view it here at work, but I am correct to assume you need a 96-97 only right?

Yep 96-97 cover with crank sensor will work; just be sure the cover has a crank sensor and you are good.

Ebay would be the easiest place to find one. It is also a good place to find coils and pcm too. That's where i found mine.

I managed to find the Coils at a local junkyard.
