is a gu5 drum brakes carrier the same a gu5 disc brakes?

Default is a gu5 drum brakes carrier the same a gu5 disc brakes?

need a differential for my 94 z28 with disc brakes.. found a 94 v6 gu5 car with drum brakes.in the junkyard that I can get the.differential out of.for.30 bucks,.are.they the.same?

Does it have G80, also? Then it should be essentially the same. You could swap your backing plates and brakes to it.

Got it and installed it , its not the posi type with springs and Crap before but it'll work for now... now I have bigger problems, after I got everything finished I hopped in and threw it in drive and took off... it went to 3500 and shifted into 2nd and my rear end locked up and car wouldn't move.. put it in reverse and it moved, put it back in drive and 1st was fine then hit 2nd and a bunch of clanking and grinding from the tranny and alot of jerking.. tranny was just built with solid servo's, race bands and everything so Idk Wtf is going on now... gonna check it out tomarrow..

Could be you lost some teeth on the "new" ring/pinion.

Then I guess you need to look there. I was just thinking that the rear coming unlocked when you put it in reverse allowed a broken/jammed gear tooth to come free and fall away. I've seen it happen.
