Good catch man. You might want to check install height on your new springs just to be sure.

Now I'm not trying to be an *******, just want to ask you a question. Your running a CC306 and had no idea what springs you were running? Seems like kind of an important thing to go along with the cam.

Install height on those patriots should be 1.750 unless you have had your spring pockets machined.

Those other springs look like weak *** garbage. Deffinetly an upclose and personal example of why you dont run **** springs in your engine. Pretty sure you said you didnt put them in, didnt your engine come from someone you know though?

Not someone I know but there are a few people on here that know about the the motor. I've been trying to get his number to talk to him to know exactly whats done to the motor but no luck yet.

Spring install height was 1.800 thats what was on the box and everything checked out okay with them going out enjoying the morning then will get on the car this afternoon!!

A "good catch" to me would have been identifying those springs being a problem BEFORE they broke.

At least there's no other damage!

That is the install height that patriot tests them at to let people know the specs of them installed at 1.800.

I know ive asked befor and i dont know if i got an answer, i ran into this very same issue. If you have 8501's installed at 1.750 chances are thats way to much seat pressure. I had to drop down to 8401's due to the 1.750 install height vs the 1.800. the 8501's could be overkill on more then one area of your valvetrain.

Id put money that they are in @ 1.750. IF these are the 8501's i wouldnt run them. If they are the 8401's then your ok. Im not just flapping my mouth, i asked alot of people when i ran into this including lloyd, just trying to pass along some helpful information that could save you more problems.

he hasn't contacted you yet? i ran into him last sunday and he said he would jump on here and give you more info about the motor. IIRC he said those were Howard's springs.
