Well, I started working on my GTO on Sunday so I would have a fun car down there Shootout weekend. I started my cam install, and on the last spring, the retainer went flying. It took me about an hour to find that darn thing. Luckily I found it.
We put the cam in as smooth as silk, and wouldn't you know it, I dropped one of the four bolts for that plate that goes over the cam, down into the oil pan. I wanted to shoot myself.
Yesterday I went out outside to the cheeser (the GTO), and drained the oil. Within about 30 seconds, I got the bolt out with a magnet. Thank the lord. It was under that secondary tray under the windage. I lucked out. I was outside yelling "winner, winner, chicken dinner." My neighbors must think I am nuts.
So needless to say, I will be especially happy to make it to the Shootout with at least some mode of transportation.

SpectreWerks wouldn't give exact specs, but I know that it's a 112 LSA and around a .530 lift. Nothing insane. I am putting a new chain and oil pump in tonight.
Sorry, that was completely off topic. I feel bad that I won't be able to get my Z there this year. I wanted to at least drive something fun down to the Shootout to be one of the "cool kids" again. LOL... just kidding. I know it's really not about all that. I just can't wait to check out all the rides. Outlaw will be insanity this year.

Looks like Thunderchicken won't be making an appearance after all based on yesterday's findings. ES/NA looks to be one yellow firebird short of a happy meal...:

I hear ya. I've almost been ready to give up on mine. I'm 8 days from leaving for BG and I still have about 250 miles to put on the new clutch and that can only get done if the slave doesn't leak. The transmission has been in/out of the car 9 times over the last 4 weeks.

Ouch sorry to hear Alan. Still hope to see ya there!
Kyle you put in a Street twin correct? Hell I put mine in and drove it straight to the track. Grabbed like it should and I have NEVER had any chatter or issues from mine. Id say run even if you cant get the 250 in.

Damn that really sucks Alan I was really looking forward to running against you in ES/NA this year since my car didn't make it last year. I can honestly say I know how you feel though, mine motor **** the bed 2-days before we left for last year's shootout. Hope to see you there anyways though!
