Default lt1 less power than normal and vibration

lt1 355 6,000 miles yesterday it started and ran great on the way to work then there was a little rain (which i don't think matters) before i left and when i started it to leave it was hard starting but started and idled fine. But whenever i would start climbing through the rpm range it doesn't have it's usual power and has an odd vibration to it as well...any ideas as to what it could be?

Possibly a dead cylinder. With the car idling, pull the fuel injector clips one at a time. If you get one where the idle does not change, you've found the cylinder not firing correctly.

It doesn't seem like the cylinder isn't firing cause it still has a good amount of power just not what it usually is

It's an easy way to ensure you are firing (at least mostly) on all 8. You can either do this or remain bewildered. Your choice.

Hah alright thank you. What would be the fix then if it was a dead cylinder?

For starters, you can check the spark plug to make sure it's not broken/burnt/fouled out, carefully check the spark plug wire to make sure it's not burnt/damaged. Plug the clip in of the possible bad cylinder and get a broom stick handle (or engine stethoscope if you have one), put it against the injector and put the other end against your ear and listen to see if it is actuating.
List your mods as well.

It could really just be the ignition? Why would the msd mess things up? Especially now. Its been good for 6k I'll try it though

Aftermarket ignitions rarely add anything of value on a N/A car. It's just one more thing to go wrong.

I take it you aren't the one who installed it? It depends. I've never used one, but I think it is a plug and play harness, unless someone hacked your harness and soldered/butt connected it together.

Some water or humidity probably got into the distributor or whatever. Let it dry out and see how it runs. That's what happens to mine on rainy or really humid days.

I though that was it when it first started happening but i left it in the garage all night and it was outside all day in the 90° weather i did just realize that after i replaced my oil pump drive there wasn't a good seal on the intake manifold and there was a small oil leak so i think that is my problem right there
