Default Exhaust Help

I have a 94 camaro LE2 setup that I just got done and the 3" Y-pipe is hitting under the drivers floodboard on the unibody cross brace. It only hits on hard accel but it hits pretty good when it does, anybody have any ideas or is it just something to live with. Ive thought about crushing the pipe some but its stainless so it won't be real easy?

My 97 Formula had the same problem. Everytime I got on the gas hard WHAM! I just lived with it. Over time the pipe bent itselft from the repetative banging and it quietened down.

Yes , it's a problem. Squash the pipe oval shaped where it hits . Exhaust banging can be picked up by the knock sensor and will retard timing ..thus reducing power

No, I did all the work, I was thinking of trying to oval it some to help. The problem with new mounts is that it will raise the engine some and its already close the way it is, I'm afraid I'll buy new mounts and it won't move as much but it will still hit because its closer to the frame, thus not gaining anything.

That's what I was thinking too. Mine did that when I had a bad motor mount.

Seems like the obvious solution to me.
