400 horse power LT1 built..

Yep I hit over 400 with the 0544/.555 lift 230/236 dur 112 lsa (mild)....although I do have a little bit more CI's. 400 is possible with a good cam and head combo and a good tunner

You should have no problem hitting 400rwhp with heads cam and including the juice. With the right matchings heads/cam you can easily hit 400rwhp without the juice and be very mild. Its not so much buying a set of ported heads and throwing a big cam in and wondering why it doesnt produce power as its not matched to work the best. Thats why we have companys like AI and LE that can make anything you want and get the most power possible weather its a mild or agressive build. Ive seen guys with my LE 223/230 cam hitting 390-420rwhp with a set of LE2 heads in front of auto and manual cars. My car is tuned to perfection and my dyno numbers in my sig i can guarantee are not up closer to the 400 mark cause this cam is not matched to my ported AFRs and likely too big for the cam. Do some researching first before you make your final decision.

Again, it is pretty easy for a m6 but not typical for a stalled a4. Yes a stalled a4 setup can make 400whp but it requires a little more attention to detail. Heck there are a lot of h/c m6 cars that never touch 400whp. Who gives a **** about dyno numbers anyway. I have seen 420 whp cars that don't trap 120, but on the other hand I've seen 375whp stalled a4 383 trap 122.

The stock rods are easily good to the power level desired, the stock crank will handle more. And pistons are the real weak point in a stock bottom end, even with a small shot of nitous.

Never said anything about stock rods.. And just off what I've read on here you can use a stock lt1 crack if I'm going to be spraying..

If you are going to spray more than 150 then I would change pistons and rods. Keep stock crank and be on your way to one he'll of a good time. The powder metro rods don't like more than 150-175 and over am extended period will have cap issues. If you are going to run them at least use a better rod bolt and have them all balanced WELL.
