Did it run before you pulled the PCM?

Check the multi-pin plugs, fuses, etc.

Like Paul mentioned, it is unlikely that a working part stopped working after removal and reinstallation. Definitely check fuses, plugs, coil wire, grounds, etc. It is likely something you did.

check to make sure you put the opti on correctly. In my case I had installed it, everything looked fine but had only a sputter every now and then and it was overly rich.

Checked spark, strong, fuel proper, everything in order, ended up ordering an opti and upon installation of the new one I found that my old one was just fine, only was off by one hole. (yes the dowell will go into the non keyed holes fine... PITA)

The OEM balancer needs to be removed. It's just three bolts so no big deal.

It should be VERY obvious which hole the opti pin needs to go in. If you weren't sure of this before then there's a 2 in 3 chance you indexed it incorrectly and pulled the opti on into the wrong hole.

To be a little clearer, the balancer on the LT1 engine has three bolts that hold it to the balancer hub. GM designed it this way to get it out of the way of the Opti without needing to pull the entire thing off the crank.

I'm also starting to think the Opti is the culprit.

It is not a certainty but a possibility.

IMO ,anytime you work with the opti, it's a good idea to try and start the engine before putting the pump and everything else back in the way.. Firing up for a few seconds without the pump on or water in the block won't hurt anything and will save you a possible headache if it doesn't start . Just install the balancer once you check and reindex the opti and see if it starts before reinstalling the pump an filling with coolant this time.

I hate when people do that.

POST UP what the problem was so maybe other people could learn something.

It should be very easy with a dowel opti to know you have it on right. To have it in the wrong hole would mean you would really have to put pressure on the opti for it to sit flush and that's if it would. When it is in the correct hole it will go on with no resistance whatsoever. Lesson learned I reckon.
