Getting Speed Inc PS pulley. What tool? Tensioner? (pic)
I figure I'm gonna eat through belts between the old pulley and the tensioner. So I'm gonna get the Speed Inc pulley. What tool do I use to remove and replace the pulley?
And, where can I get a new tensioner or whatever the name of it is? Is there an aftermarket one? Thanx
Edit: Just ordered this. Hope it's not on backorder or anything.

A power steering removal tool. sell them at any autoparts store in the little red package

something similar to that would most likely work

How about the wheel for the belt tensioner? Can that be replaced?
So I figure the new pulley has to be pressed on.

This is for light duty. I'd rather have the pulley.

You may be able to get a ball-joint press to work to get the pulley on... At least you would not have to pull the pump entirely to do it... But, at the same time, now would be an ideal time to not only replace the pulley, but the pump as well and flush the power steering system with new fluid...
As far as the tensioner pulley, yes I ordered 2 this year for both my cars. I don't have a part number on hand but look it up via RockAuto.com and the AC-Delco one is the on I bought. It is the exact same one used OEM.

When I bought a new tensioner it came as one new unit with the mounting plate attatched to it so all it took was to unbolt it from the engine with the two 3/8 bolts that hold it. Takes like 2 mins to replace. Just got to your local parts place. I think mine was about 25 bucks....

Yeah, I ended up "fixing" more than one car with an aftermarket tensioner... One of them the bearing died and the plastic pulley ended up jamming the belt really nice, took out the power steering pulley, the alternator bearings and cracked the accessory bracket...
On another one, we could not figure out this stupid farking ticking coming from the motor... thought it was a header gasket, nope, thought a bad spark plug/wires/etc, nope, adjusted the valves, nope, finally took off the belt and it went away, so we changed the alternator, nope, turns out it was the stupid-azz tensioner... When you free-spun the tensioner it didn't make noise and would only do it with a solid load on it... Was really hard to localize as well...
After those episodes I figure I can spend the extra on a AC-Delco pulley... It was like $25 or so each for them...
