What is the QUIETEST muffler I can buy?

I just recently went from a 40 series to an 80 series with an electric cutout. It was a big difference. 80 is so much quiter.
Maybe try putting that one back on if you still have it laying around. When I got my car it already head the 40 on it, I found the 80 locally for $20 so I gave it a try and I'm happy now.

rather than choke the crap out of your exhaust with a stock muffler, and buying and having an electric cutout welded in, why not just buy a $400 beater 4 banger DD with no exhaust leaks and get 30+ mpgs and be dead quiet? Also keeps the miles off of your 383.

I think hands down the best exhaust setup for your needs is a borla with an e-cutout in the blockoff plate spot. That's what I've had for 8 years now and the older I get the more I love it. I live in a pretty quiet neighborhood and am the ONLY car guy around, most of my neighbors don't care for loud muscle cars. I know this so I close the remote blockoff plate when coming and going to make the neighbors happy, then run it open when I'm out. Best of both worlds, I can't imagine a better setup. Yes you can run just an e-cutout further up on a stock style exhaust but that is just retarded loud IMO, but then I am getting old, lol.
