Default Another rich thread

Well I always knew my car was running a lil rich but now it seems even worse smelling. I just installed a pair of new o2s that I have been needing for some rime now and cleaned my maf while I was at it. When I fired it up it sounded great but after only a few sec of running in my open garage it was so strong in smell I couldn't see straight. I took her for a spin and my fp is at 51 on idle and a lil higher when driving. I cleared the old o2 codes and I'm taking it out today to drive her a bit more and try to open er up some. Anyone have any ideas of why it's so rich or is it just my basic mail order tune still doing it....
If this helps some info on the engine... 383... Mad z28 tune/ 236-246 cam/30lb svo inj/ afr 195 heads/ msd ign / autolite 2911 plugs / stock fpr / 255 fp...

Why is your FP so high? I run 36 lbs on one of my cars with the factory FP of 43.5 and it runs great. Also take those shitty autolight plugs and throw them away. Go with AC Delco or NGK your engine will thank me later.

Ok for 1st question...I have no idea why the fp is that high..the comp is programed to stock so don't know why since the new o2s and maf cleaning it's like this
As for plugs I used to run NGK plugs and they didn't work... Wouldn't burn off and would foul out fast... The autolites work good in my car or at least better then NGK

Fuel pressures high, mine will read 51 with the vac line disconnected..

Autolites Are for fords.... Delco for chevy..... Champ for Chryslers.....

EVERY chevy i have ever put autolites in do not run as they should..Just saying.

Your FP should be 43.5 any higher or lower will have diffrent effects.

As stated that's why I posted about the pressure... I'm aware of what it should be... It's always been around 45 or so ... Now it's slightly
over 50...I was posting on
here to see if anyone had
any input on why it might be
so high like it is....and again I know what worked in my car and didn't as for plugs...have always used delco in any other vehicle...NGK are garbage in mine unfortunately but the autolites work good possibly have to experiment more with heat range down the line since I already changed from recommended 3910 to a hotter 3911 but these plugs do good on my combo

put an adjustable reg. on there and set it to where it should be.

Don't use an adjustable fpr stick with a stock one. I would put a gauge on it and pull vac off and see what the pressure is. I would also check the plastic line for cracks or loose rubber elbows or something.

I had a afpr on it at one time and took it off because it didn't matter where I had it at it would just readjust by way of the computer... I have a pressure guage on it now which is how I know what it is at butvi will check the line going to it for presence of fuel or cracks and leaks... Vacuum is a whole nother issue with the cam I'm running... Had to get a vacuum tank to run off the booster when I first put the c in so I could have brakes
