Thanks. I've been flirting with 10's for a couple years now. Just finally had the time to make a couple of tweaks and get the car to the track. I'm really jealous of your new setup though - bottom 11's on motor, whew. Throw a 150 shot on that When it comes time to build the shortblock, I'll be sure to touch base with you for some advice.

Clearly I missed that...not taking away anything from the accomplishment of the OP in this thread, obviously the 396 mentioned was not running that well at all. Maybe today's nitrous kits are way more efficient in making power ?

I'm no nitrous guru, but I do know that some companies rate their shots at the flywheel, and others at the rear wheel - which can make a huge difference between two brands both labeled as the same shot.

...or, it was just a turd .

Yeah theres more left in it, our cars are about the same weight not that i've added subframes and a rollbar. Im rockin the AC too lol

I just made a few recent changes and am hoping to get a couple more tenths out of it.

Im also running the nitrous outlet plate kit. Ive hit it with 100 shot and spun bad with a 1.58 60' coasting through the traps (had to shut it down early due to a upper rpm miss) it went 7.00@100 in the 1/8th. Im sure it will go 6.60's when the 60' gets down in the 1.4's and I get a clean pass.

Congrats again!

great job joe. Btw I did that with a stock cam

Lt1s love nitrous and they can easily break into the 10s on spray or boost.

It was a T-56 car. They do not ET all that well compared to a stalled auto. Also yes nitrous was mentioned. If it was easy then everyone would be doing it.

[QUOTE=BlackScreaminMachine;15452919]Back about 10 years ago I was impressed when I saw a 1996 Camaro with a 396 (unknown heads), cc306 cam, t-56, drag radials, and 150 wet kit running 11.20's @ 125 in crap air. Times have certainly changed.

Congrats!!!

I wish. I had the HD camcorder ready to go, but I forgot it at home. I actually don't have any video footage of my car, so one of these days.

I'm still without rollbar. Keep us posted on new bests.

Thanks Rob. 10's with the stock LT1 cam? Damn. What was the rest of your setup like?

And regarding the 396 setup from 10 years ago, the MPH was there, so most likely with an A4, while still maybe not outstanding numbers for a 396, it was still a 10-second car. I think some things have gotten better over the years (tuning, Nitrous Outlet plate), but mostly I think more experience produces better results and drives the expectations up. And let's face it, a 10-second car just isn't as impressive as it used to be thanks to our LS brethren.

That's awesome Joe, congrats. I always wanted to try spraying mine into the 10's with the hotcam. I know it would be a lot harder with the m6 though, plus I'm sure something would break on the way there, probably my stock trans would be my weakest link at this point.

Thanks Gregg. You run stronger than I do on motor, so it may be easier for you than you think, but I have zero experience with an M6. FLT helped me get rid of my weakest link this spring after 3rd and 4th went out in my stock trans last fall coming home from the track.

Mines quite a bit lighter than yours, last I checked my race weight was 3450, that helps my times Im sure. If I was keeping mine Im sure I would try for it one of these days. Im looking to get into a c5z right now though. Would love to keep the camaro for track days and all but cant really afford to own both.

Do you still have the car?

C5Z sounds very nice. I could see myself making that jump as well, and I wouldn't be able to afford both either. I bet you would still have a lot of fun during track days with the C5Z
