Default Cammed LT1 track #'s & Nitrous #'s

Went to Tristate Dragway yesterday to make some runs with the car. The weather was perfect for racing.

DA: 34

Car setup:
-355ci
-CAI
-1 3/4 longtube headers
-2 1/2" True Duals
-1.6rr's
-228/236 .592/.592 110lsa
-Performabuilt lvl 2
-Circle D 3600 stall
-LCA's
-26x11.50 M/T et streets w/skinny's, on prostar wheels

Weight Reduction:
-Spare tire/Jack
-Front sway bar
-A/C
-Rear seats

Best time on motor:
-60' - 1.81
-330 - 5.11
-1/8 - 7.89
-mph - 88.21
-1000 - 10.31
-1/4 -12.36
-mph - 109.99

Best time on 52N jet (100 shot):
-60' - 1.63
-330 - 4.64
-1/8 - 7.18
-mph - 96.41
-1000 - 9.38
-1/4 - 11.24
-mph - 120.91

I know my 60' times need work and the car needs more suspension but I'm pretty happy with the results overall. The car definately has much more in it with a little work

It has stock heads, stock intake, and stock compression. It does have stronger pistons and rods in it though.......

I guess I am just old school but to say you have a little work done with having a built motor with an aftermarket cam is just silly.. A cam only car is a Stock LT1 350 with a car not a built LT1 355. To me that is not having a cam only car. If it make you feel better to say that then more power to you but to tell people your car is a cam only car. Like me with my 383 LS1 calling it a Cam only car!! It has to the stock heads, intake on it..

Yep, that's why I changed the title of the thread. Guess I shouldn't have called it "cam only". It's nothing like your example though because you are increasing cubes to 383, which would significantly increase power.. and my car is pretty much stock cubes with a 355. You do realize forged rods and pistons don't add horsepower right? It's not really worth arguing over... however if you have anything constructive to add I welcome your comments.

Thanks, the car was spinning on motor and spinning even more on spray. I'm not sure if the track prep wasn't very good or I just need some more suspension work. The car dyno'd 291/299. I know those are pretty low #'s.. does my trap speed seem lower than it should?

They dont add HP but if they are lighter then your stock rotating assembly and balanced correctly it will Free up more power.. I know my 383 rotating assembly weighed a little less then my stock rotating assembly did..

I am looking into doing a cam in my bone stock LT1 and saw this thread.. I wasnt trying to be a jerk or what not just wanted to make sure about everything you had done to the motor before I decided on what cam to get..

As far as your trap speed.. My Bolt on LS1 trapped 110mph with a 6speed and it made 340rwhp.. Your trap seems to be very good for the amount of power your car is making..

those times are respectable as **** man.

1.6 60ft...cant really ask for that much more out of it. Especially if your rockin a stock 10 bolt...dont see rear end listed.

That thing caged? or did you only make 1 nitrous run? (11.49 and under)

Thanks, yeah it's still the stock 10 bolt with 3.23's. Nope no cage, the track I went to is very lax on their tech... hell the first nitrous pass I made I wasn't even wearing my helmet

The na mph and hp seem down to me. I trapped 108 with boltons and it dynoed 278 rwhp. How hard are you turning it. Figured you be trappin 111+ and put down atleast 320.

Hey White, nice runs!
Where do you live? I've run at TriState, but have pretty much given up on running there and Edgewater due to the horrible starting line prep at those tracks. Not so much of an issue with short WB cars and/or lots of tire underneath them, but I'm wheelbase AND tire challenged
I raced at Muncie yesterday - excellent starting line! 1.43-1.44 60's all day long with the "boat"!

Thanks! I live in southern IN. It was about an hour and 15 minute drive for me to get to tristate dragway. I might have to check out muncie if the prep is that much better haha. Awesome 60' times man

Spinning to about 6300. I don't put too much stock in dyno #'s really but that's a strong bolt-on trap you had, better than most I've seen especially with A4's

Times sound about right for n/a with that cam and the 60 foot. My buddy has a 3rd gen camaro with a stock long block and carb setup with that exact le cam and he is running 12.4 off a 1.8x 60 foot. Hes an M6 so hes working on the suspension and hoping for some 1.5 or 1.6 times to get him into the 11s.

You can't be far from me. I'm north of Lawrenceburg, near I-74.
Muncie is well worth the 2-hr drive for me.
