good luck with it they are all a p.i.t.a. at some point but we love them...
When it was time to replace my lt1 starter I asked the parts store for a 1996 corvette grand sport starter (LT4) starter. They used a factory high torque mini starter. I handed them my huge stocker and they said "sometimes they just change the design for certain parts". That was there explanation for the starter not matching my stock one haha... Worked out really nicely
id be careful with those autozone starters i burnt through 5 of them in a matter of a year on my 385........couldve had something to do with the 14:1 CR though lol..............good thing is they are life time warranty so if ya fry it you get a free one....(learned how to swap the bastard out in about 10 minutes laying on my back under my trailer at the track though lol)...eventually i got tired of it and just spent the money on the MSD APS starter things mint...........when you install the new starter i reccomend just checking the gear mesh to flywheel/flex plate.......if you get a wire coat hanger the wire should just be able to fit into the pit and the tip of the gear when meshed.......if its not adjust with shims till it is.......no body likes busting off a flexplate tooth one of the autozone junks did that to mine last year.....
