Uh...yeah i do get it. I realize you have to put a full tank in it to get the real average im not an idiot. But what im saying is, i put $10 in it once and gauge says i used almost half a tank (and yes i realize i didnt really have half a tank) but the next time i put $10 in it the gauge only showed that i used 1/8th of a tank. I dont think yall understand what im saying
You just answered your on question dimwit.
How many times do we have to tell you the gas gauge is NOT accurate?
"i'm not an idiot".....Are you 100% sure about that? Could have fooled me

LOL...........No you dont get it...all of these cars the gauge will fluctuate 1/4 of a tank or more when it gets to about a half of a tank....mine does. o5HDs car does EVERYONES...Every GM car ive ever owned does this to some extent. THE ONLY WAY TO FIGURE IT OUT IS FROM FULL..

I know the gauge fluctuates! Let me explain this a different way. Okay first 35 mile trip i put 3.13 gallons of gas and gauge goes from 1/2 to under a quarter. Second 35 mile trip i put 3.13 gallons in it and gauge goes from 1/2 and only moves 1/8th. Okay i do not care how inaccurate the gauge is or how much it fluctuates, my point is if i put the same amount of gas in the car both times the inaccurate fluctuating gauge should show the same thing on both trips but it didnt.

Keep beating your head against the wall. It's working for ya.
Between the expansion and contraction of the fuel through the day and the very inaccurate fuel gauge guessing how much I have left in the tank you are getting now where in finding actual mileage. You might as well guess with out looking.
Here is a hint YOUR DOING IT WRONG. If you really want to know with your method....? Drain the fuel take every time you go to put more in.

Fuel doesnt expand and contract. It either sits there or evaporates. And when i put gas in it, its at the point when it stumbles on take off because its almost empty.

Kyle---try this--it works most of the time for guys having fuel economy problems---get a 5 gallon gas can---put 3.13 gallons of gas in your tank---put 3.13 gallons in the gas can---reset your odometer -drive in the straightest, flatest road you can until the car stops running---when it quits, coast as far as you can to get the most miles--check the odometer--put the 3.13 gallons from the can into your tank---reverse course and drive back towards the gas station--if you run out before you get there, take the can and walk to the station and get another 3.13 gallons--put in car and turn around and drive away from station as you will have proved that your car gets more milage driving that direction---It is important to drive the same mph as speed effects economy---when you run out this time, walk on in the direction you were headed because you have already proven that the car gets better milage that direction so the walk to the next station will be shorter than the walk back to the other station but in either case the walk to and from the station will be equal!!!

Wow
What's your oil pressure like around those temps?
I never let mine get over 180
(I installed a manual fan switch)
Plus I live in Florida so it's too friggin hot for a car to run that high
