Default Which cam is better for a blower....112lsa or 114lsa?

I currently have a 230/236 cam on 112LSA and was wondering..most people go with a 114LSA with a blower. I plan on running 15psi on my D1 unit...so would my cam be fine? Thanks for any insight

anything 112-114 will work fine.. the lower the LSA, the less you will see gains from the blower... what you have will work fine...114 would be more ideal since overlap is more desirable when spraying or boosting.. imo, its not worth swapping to a 114 unless youre just picky like that...

Um, it's not ideal - you also should have a bigger intake/exhaust split, but it's not so out of line that it's going to be bad. You'll be fine. Worry more about compression, detonation, etc.

I love how total overlap is never brought into the equation. People talk about LSA likes its a stand alone part of a cam. The truth is it's all relative.

You can compare one cam on a 114 and one cam on a 112 but the 114 have MORE overlap.

You definitely want to limit overlap with boost. This car idles like stock and is almost in the 8's...

I would call up Ai and see what they say instead of going with what the internet says to do.

lsa is a good indicator but it only give you overlap using the lobe center line.. you need to take into consideration the lobe profile. specifically the opening and closing ramps.. they are not always the same and that can give you a different overlap than using the center lsa. symmetrical and asymmetrical lobes are harder to do... the intake and exhaust lobes are not always the same... honestly, thats why its so hard to tell someone what the "best" cam is... there are so many...
