Default Trickflow 195cc with 72cc... throwing an idea around

I have thought about it as i had sold an almost complete p600b kit to my friend which has been sitting in the same spot for the past two in the box. I bought incomplete and had about 95% complete when i sold it to him for nearly what i paid which was dirt cheap. Another buddy of mine has a 00 GT thats got a built ford motorsport engine and blower on it and talks the **** as all stang owners do. It is a nasty car i admit and after getting my motor done this year it not in the same class by any means. So anyway got bored last night and checking out some compression calculators and was on the trickflow website seeing what they offer for big cc heads to bring down my compression. Found out they have a 72cc version now out there which will bring my compression down to 9.5:1

My question i need to ask is has anyone run these heads before and what are the 195s like out of the box? Damn steal considering they cost $5xx. I have a built bottom to take the abuse i was just wondering what kind of power i could get out of them.

Plan

355
Forged Mahle Pistons
Forged Eagle H Beams
Stock Crank
TFS 72cc Head
Mild Comp 305 or Custom (Want it Streetable)
P600B Currently 8lb Pulley (I know they max out roughly 12psi)
60lb inj
255 Walbro - Might need to go dual when tunning starts

Figure 500+whp is within reach... winter is coming upon us and might need a new project

Dont use the 305 for those huge heads. Get a solid custom grind that can still e streetable but make big numbers

the heads are bare castings, so you'll need valves/springs for them. plus you need the guides machined so that will easily put these heads at 1400-1500 for the pair.

I do agree it's nice to see a head with this big a combustion chamber. My setup would go from 11.75:1 to 9.4:1, boost ready

Also if that is the supercharger you are going to stick with I would leave the compression at 10.5:1 because 12psi of intercooled boost will give more power and work better with that compression. I have a gen1 sbc with 10.5:1 scr and a Procharger p1200br blower making 13# of boost and it runs fine on 93 pump gas with the air to air intercooler.

I personally would rather keep the compression concervative if i get boost hungry and upgrade down the road. Yeah i shouldve assumed those heads came bare from TF. Its just something im debating about doing maybe not this winter but maybe the next. Just curious what your guys thoughts are on this setup and what kind of power id expect running with a mild h/c package and 8-10lbs.

Anyone running a p600b and mild h/c setup or know of someone with a similar setup and numbers to show?

You will have no issues making the power you are looking to make with that 195cc head. The head the way it sits will support 500 HP on a N/A combination with no port work.
