Default O2 extensions

So I know I only have to run the front o2's with my LT headers. What do you guys recommend 12in or 24in and where can I get a set from?

From what I've gathered you only need one 12 in extension

12", I don't remember if I really "needed" the extension for the driverside when i put my lts on, but I used it so i would be able to route the wires better. You can order them from most sponsors, I prefer ws6store.

...or you could just solder more wire in yourself and save $40

Or risk altering the resistance of the wiring with globs of solder.

Extensions are the better option.

If you solder everything correctly, make good connections, and properly insulate each wire the readings will be more accurate than crimping or snap-on extensions.

Rather than creating a new thread -

Has anyone ever needed as long as an 80" extension? - does this length even exist off the shelf?

I have Kooks long tubes and catted Y going on a 97 dual-cat LT1 with 4 O2 sensors. The front pre-cat sensors use the flat 4 pin plug and the rear post-cat sensors use the square 4 pin plug. The 2 fronts and passenger rear i dont need to extend, but the rear driver side is this one in question

Im suprised that this is not a more common need for the LT1 dual-cat cars.. unless everyone is routing their driver side post-cat O2 extension in a different (shorter) path, then please enlighten me. I ran a route for the extension to run with a piece of rope and then measured it- 80" if im generous but i can probably get away with a 72" (6ft)

All of the extension harness lengths i see around are the typical 12" & 24"

It's fairly uncommon for people to keep the post-cat O2s after a header install. They are usually deleted altogether and O2 simms (or tuning) eliminates them electronically. Since the ONLY purpose they have is to tell you that the cats are working they don't hold much value on a performance build.
