Default AI & LE 226/232 or 226/234 Cam Results

Im looking at stepping up the cam when i have to pull most of my motor apart next year when i do the 24x swap. Im currently running the LE 223/230 .565 112lsa cam. I have to pass Ontario, Canada emissions and i passed no problem on a base tune i used from another builld. Got talking to Lloyd and he said if i had some room to grow he would step up to his 226/232 .572 112LSA cam. All of my mods are in my sig and put down 376rwhp/377tq with dual fullsize cats, air system, and egr. Im looking to get closer to my goal which is 400rwhp and still pass emissions. These AFR 190s have been worked over alot (Flow 294/208 @ .600) and are begging for a bigger cam and made power all the way to 6-6100rpm when the cam dipped off. I was just curious what everyone is making with these similar cams made by each company. I realize the 109/110 which what most of you are using will differ when mine will be made on a 112lsa.

Any info and numbers would be great!

Thanks

The biggest advantage of the 24x system is ability to turn past 7000-7200rpm, neither cam will want that.

I had the AI cam and I liked it a lot, but it wont let you use the 24x system to it's potential.

I realize the 24x has will have no effect on the power im just doing it cuz i found a deal on a used kit and grabbed it and making my car way more reliable then it has been. While im at it and the timing cover is off and i got to swap chains not more i could swap cams. There has been some minimal gains with the ls1 pcm but its not the deal breaker. Im more concerned about the gains of this cam over what i have and if anyone else had anything else to say about it and what kind of power they made with it.

Thanks for the info... keep it coming!

Edit: Only real numbers ive found is Joelious making 373/352 cam only! Puts my h/c numbers to shame almost

I have the AI 226/234 cam in my car and all I can say is that I love it. I haven't had it on a dyno, but the car runs really hard and has very good manners. I'd say that you won't go wrong with either AI or LE.

It's a good cam. I went bigger though and put this cam in storage. I have a 24x/24x cam now and its much more aggressive. Being an A4, seems annoying to drive.

Im planning on going with the AI cam this Winter. Is anyone running it with stock rear gears in an M6? The website says it is ok with stock gears but Im wondering about its street manners.

Joels car isn't cam only. He has some work done to the bowls.

I got the LE cam. Just got the block back last Thursday. The main reason I picked LE over AI was the $115 difference. Ai's was more expensive, plus it was a 3 week wait until they would have some.

Yes, but my clutch decided to let go on my second pass. All I got was a 12.9 @109 w/ 2.12 60'. With the clutch slipping in every gear . Need to get back to the track and try again.

Thanks for all the input so far guys appreciate it! Looks like i might gain 10-15rwhp with the cam swap. Hoping this cam works my huge ported AFRs to crank out some more jam then current one. Just have to see how funds look next spring when i get ready to doing the 24x swap. Ill likely be fine with the rest of my valvetrain but i know ill have to swap my injectors they are close to being maxed out with the current cam so ill step up to some 36# or 42#s and sell my 30#s to recoup some of the cost. Just sucks i paid by the time i got it shipped and duty from the border it was $460 for a damn camshaft Dont really wanna have to do it all again but this will push the limits of this build and staying emissions compliant without stroking the short.

I had the AI cam and ran 12.0 all day on motor and ran 10s on the gun. It was cam only and stock a4 car.
